Product Review: GNC Vitamin C Moisturizing Cream

Monday, September 26, 2011

Hello everyone! How's your day? Well, I'm good but I'm a bit lazy to make another review from organic products that I've been using. So I'll just make a short review on one of my HG moisturizer. When I say HG (holy grail), I mean that I'm using the product for more than 3 months now and my skin loves it.

GNC Vitamin C Moisturizing Cream

Some of us don't follow the basic step in skin care routine- the cleanse-tone-moisturize thing. One of the important step here is moisturizing. Some of us tends to neglect and skip this step. I suffered from adult acne when I was in college so I tried different brands of moisturizer from high ends, low ends and cost effective ones.
I can say that my search for the perfect moisturizer is over until I read in a forum from female network this brand and been raved by GTalkers. May I now present to you the GNC Vitamin C Moisturizing Cream.
GNC or General Nutrition Centers is one of American commercial enterprise that focuses on retail sales of health and nutrition related products including vitamins, supplements, minerals, herbs, sports nutrition, diet and energy produtcs. Here in our country, GNC Live Well store are located in various malls. Some of them have stand alone store and kiosks.
So now let's focus on the product review. This moisturizing cream is under their beauty and wellness product along with other moisturizers like Aloe Vera moisturizing cream for sensitive skin and Vitamin A,E and D for dry skin. This product is also labeled as anti-aging cream.

GNC Vitamin C Moisturizing Cream
This is how the product looks like. It's almost half way of the tub.
GNC Vitamin C Moisturizing Cream
sorry for the blurry pic, the consistency is thick like that of a mayonnaise

What I like:
  • Not oily and easily absorbed by the skin.
  • Much softer/supple skin and brighter looking appearance.
  • No break-outs and irritations.
  • Light citrusy scent that is not overpowering.
  • The consistency of the cream is thick but spreadable.
  • Inexpensive for a 2oz jar because I only needed a pea size for my face and another pea size for my neck.
  • One jar lasted me for more than 3 months.
  • Batch and expiry date is stamped on the bottom of the jar.
What I don't like:
  • The packaging is a bit big for travel.
  • In a tub, not hygienic.
Will I repurchase: YES!

Recommendation:
I give this a 5/5 rating. I think it's better if the packaging is in a tube type like those of toothpaste or in a pump bottle. On the other hand, i love this product and I'm on my second tub now. It's a steal for a moisturizer that can also be a substitute for a night cream because you will wake up with a supple and hydrated face without the greasy feel.

I highly recommend this product for all skin types specially to ladies starting their late 20's because vitamin C also helps in the production of collagen which gives elasticity to the skin. Use a spatula to scoop out the cream and don't use your bare hands because it will contaminate the product.

I super love this product! That's all for now ladies. Have a great day ahead.

Good Times!~

  1. Hi, is this safe, it contains parabens, and parabens are linked to cancer, right?

  2. @Anonymous- yep, this is safe. Almost all products naman has parabens and the study about the cancer is not yet proven IMO.

  4. The price is very reasonable! And it's from GNC pa. We have the same issues with creams in a tub.

    1. Yes, it's more guaranteed authentic and the quality is the best. They offer this at a very cheap price na kasi when you have the Gold Membership card you'll pay na lang around 140+ then minsan they have 30% sale pa. Grabe nga sa mura nito and nakapa effective. A tub lasts more than two months pa nga minsan sakin.

  11. Wow! nice review. Balak ko talagang bumili ng product na to. Do they also sell sunblocks? Kase prang di appropriate gmitin pang morning ang Vitamin C cream coz' it does not contain any SPF eh =)

    1. Buy na dear :) I'm not sure if available na sunblocks nila dito. Pero nakita ko sa gnc.com meron sila but that's US based website. You can still use it pa din kahit walang spf kasi you need to use a different brand of spf. Mas advisable to use a separate spf rather than relying on the spf content of makeups and moisturizer.

  12. Hi! Been looking more detailed reviews of this product. It really didn't break you out? Wow. I'm worried about using products with dimethicone/other silicone-based ingredients as I break out from those. Although wala naman siya sa first 3 listed so hopefully konti lang ang dimethicone niya.

I may have missed this in your post: do you have oily/oily-combination skin? Kasi I have oily skin with some dry patches. Hehe I really hope this works for me. I'm planning to buy it.

Thank you so much for sharing your insights on this. There are other Vitamin C here in the Philippines na below 1k like Avalon Organics, Gluta C, and Vitamin C creams from Korean brands.

  14. I bought this just now, i'm really worried if this will heal or damage my skin, meron kasi akong acne. Na try mo na ba yung E, A & D moisturizers nila ???

    1. Hi Kevin,

Not yet. I guess mas need mo yung products na meant to treat acne first before using Vitamin C which is for glowing, moisturizing, and anti-aging.
